Rowena McLachlan (1942 - )born Wollongong NSW to Nina Betty (nee Holdaway)(1916-1993) & Hector McDonald McLachlan (1901 1966).
Nina the only child of Frank Richard Holdaway (1887 - 1975) & Vera Ida Munro (1889 - 1861).
Frank was the 6th son of James Holdaway (1848 - 1932)born in London UK & migrated to Australia in1867 intending to take up land in Queensland where the famous Gabba cricket ground now is but decided it was not good enough for vegetable growing. He met Lucy Annie (Amy) Roberts on the boat (name unknown) & they married some time later at Ulmara near Grafton NSW where he was cutting cedar.There was another brother William who migrated but we cannot trace his movements after about 1872.
The family of Hector McLachlan migrated to Sydney from Glaasgow in 1912.Parents Dugald McKenzie McLachlan & Caroline (nee Brooks) - siblings Katie,Grace & Dugald.Direct descendancy from John McLachlan & Dunkina McKenzie is known but not all of their descendants
