HELLO
Here you will find the results of my (along with the help of friends) research into my mother's family, the Elliotts. A special thanks needs to go to a 2nd. cousin, Dan Elliott. Without his ssistance, I'd probably still working on trying to find my great-grandfather.
While I've concentrated on my maternal grandfather's (Herbert Ellsworth Elliott) line, of course I've gone off into other family's lines as well; I doubt if it's even possible to research just one family's name.
I've been able to go back to my 5g-grandfather, William Elliot in Rowan County, North Carolina and about 1740. For two other families with connections to the Elliotts, the Bierlys and the Harmons, I've been able to go back to the early 1600s in Germany.
In addition to the Elliotts (of various spellings), you will find some Atwells; Barnes; Bennetts; Bierlys (of various spellings also); Browns; some Duncans; a Dunning or two; some Fords; and Halls; Gadberrys; Harmons; and some Sollmans; some Merrills and Misenheimers. In addition, there are many, many other families too numerous to name.
One of these days, I'll start thinking about beginning some research on my maternal grandmother's (Nellie D. Scott) family line.
Feel free to look around. If you find something that fits in your branch of the tree that's great. If you have some information on family members that I can use, please send me an e-mail.
A word of CAUTION!, I cannot certify this information as 100% correct, nor are they all proven. These files are merely a compilation of what the various researchers, who I have been in contact with, have shared with me. I check them for reasonableness and assume that those submitting files are correct for their direct line.
Happy Hunting!
