Just getting started, trying to rebuild missing information that was in family bible which disappeared at the time of my paternal grandmothers death. Researching Dupree & Sinquefield from the SE US, as well as Kenney, Baerman, Sweeney & Batson from the NE/SE US. Paternal Grandfather, Barney Arthur Dupree was born somewhere in the Carolinas in 1892. Family relocated to South GA/South AL. I'm told it was around Ashford & Dothan AL as well as Donalsonville & Blakely GA. He had 4 siblings - Pete, Pate, Cecil and Bess. I'm told his mother was a Full Cherokee from the Carolina's & had 3 sisters, Claire, Grace & Ida. I do know that Grace lived in Columbus, GA at her death. I have no background on my paternal grandmother, Clara Belle Sinquefield although I'm told she had family in SE AL (Ashford & Dothan area). On my maternal side, Kenney & Baerman were around NY, Sweeney & Batson were from KY. The Batson connection somehow involves a Judge Homer Batson of KY involved in tobacco farming & real estate. Looking forward to rebuilding info on family's heritage & helping others as needed.
