The Dorsey family came to the United States through Canada. They settled in LaSalle Il. Later moving to Oklahoma about the time of the land run. Thomas Dorsey married Lillie Friend in Perry, Ok.
John Dorsey, one of the sons had lived in Leavenworth, Kansas.
His family returned there after his death in Perry, Ok
Peter had made his home in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
Thomas and Lillie had several children while living in Perry. They moved to Craig County, Ok. They had another daughter and a son after moving to the Estella-Vinita area. Most of the Dorsey children remained in Craig county throughout their lives. There are still descendants there.
The Dorsey, Friend, Livingston-Shives descendants meet for a reunion in June every year. This year, 2004, we will meet June 12, at the Senior Citizens Center, 618 Pine, Chelsea, Oklahoma.
