I have just started my research. My grandfather was Jan Frank ( born 1885. died 1948) Buried in Plzen, Czechslovakia now the Czech republic. His first wife was Anna Novakova. They had a son named Vladimir Born July 6, 1921. The second wife's name was Josefa - do not know her maiden name. From the second marriage there were two daughters - Helena and Anna. Jan Frank came from a large family (there were 15 children - 13 boys, 2 girls). I do not know all of their names but these are the few that I had heard during my childhood; Alfons, Gustav ( my mother has a post card from Jan to Gustav dated 1921), Karel, Ladislav (apparently he was a opera singer), Rosa, and possibly the other daughter's name was Eva. One of the sisters married a Rutherford and they had an establishment that sold ladies' clothing. Apparently one of the boys had his own barber shop. Jan Frank was a shoemaker. I do know that the family originally had come from Vienna, Austria And that they owned a building of business, with their surname inscribed on it on the street known as Maria Hilferstrauss.
Great grandfather's name was Thomas Frank (he was a masterbrewer of beer and had stocks or shares in the brewery Gambrinus, which mergered with the Pilsner Brewery) and great grandmother's name was Frantiska Zdrapp. Her mother's name was Rosalie Zdrapp. Thomas Frank died in 1912. All these people have a grave stone in one of the main old cemetaries in Plzen, Czech Republic. All are buried in the same plot, under the one grave stone. Thomas Frank's father's name was Alphons Frank and he married Marie Theresa Thilen. Would Greatly appreciate any information you might have. Research has been done by speaking with my Dad,Mom. Travelling to the Czech Republic, meeting and speaking to my Aunt Anna. Have visited the grave site at the Plzen cemetary.
