My mother was Louise Pridgen. She was taken to live with a woman by the name of Bert Smith when she was just a little girl because her mother died and her father could not care for her and make enough money to survive.
She married Rackley[Rabon L.]Harris when she was very young. my father was only seventeen when they were married. My mother died in 1940 in a Lumberton, N.C. hospital
There were no family reunions that I can remember. I am just beginning my search for the Pridgen family history because I suspect that there is some medical history that would be helpful to my physician in treating some conditions that now exist in my immediate family.
Any history on the Pridgen family in Bladen, Pender and New Hanover Counties in N.C. would be greatly appreciated.
