I am trying to trace members of the EALDEN family (my father's side) and MAYNE (my mother's side)
I live in Kingfield, a village to the south of Woking, Surrey, UK
ARTHUR EDWARD EALDEN
My paternal grandfather came from Milton, Kent. Sometime in the early 20th century, date unknown, the family moved to Horsell, where my grandfather lived for the rest of his life.
CHARLES HAYWARD MAYNE
My maternal grandfather came from Winslow in Buckinghamshire. None of the immediate family knows when he and his family moved from Buckinghamshire to Surrey, or why, but my grandfather lived in the same house from a very early age until his death in 1965.
GLADYS FLORENCE EALDEN nee THOMPSON
My paternal grandmother also came from Horsell, Surrey. She was illegitimate (mother seduced by son of family she worked for) and my grandmother had a legal guardian.
BLANCHE MAYNE nee CHILDS
My maternal grandmother was born in Corscombe, Dorset. At or before the outbreak of the first world war she came up to Knaphill to do her "war work" at Brookwood Hospital.
My mother died in June 2000 and my father in 1981. My mother would not sanction a search worldwide for any family as she was worried "who might turn up on the doorstep". I am now looking for anyone who is genuinely connected to any of the above families.
