About Our Family Research


James Sanders b. 1827 was a Sergeant in the Royal Artillery and served Queen Victoria for 12 yrs. Moving his family in 1863 to Brooklyn N.Y. and later to Chicago IL. He finally settled in Greene County IA in 1869.

As the owner of the Star Restaurant and Billard hall on W. Main St. in Grand Junction, he and his wife Ann raised 8 children.
