Anthony Sandusky was born in 1747 in Virginia to Andrew Sandusky and wife Catherine. He is mentioned in the Revolutionary Records as a Constable in Captain Cowain's company and later as an Ensign between the years of 1781 and 1783. He took part in the battle of Lower Blue Licks, in August 19, 1782, along with his brother in law Josiah Willson Sr. the husband of Anthony's sister Hannah Sandusky. Anthony saved his life by escaping the battle field of the horse of Israel Boone, son of Danial Boone.
In 1780, he married Rebecca Naomi "Amy" Crews South, widow of John South who was killed in Estill's Defeat in the Battle of Mt. Signal near Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. It is not certain is this was his first or second marriage, probably his second. Rebecca had a daughter named Mary who married James Robbins in 1787 in Mercer Co. Catherine born in October 1770 who married a Benjamin Blackford in January 1787.

Anthony and his wife Rebecca attended the wedding ceremony of Abraham Lincoln's parents., in Washington Co. Ky.
Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Hanks were married June 12, 1806 in Washington County Ky. They were neighbors of the Sandusky's and probably always family friends.

In Washington Co, Ky. history quite a lot is written about Sandusky Station. Anthony became acquainted with the Beech Fork of Salt River and Pleasant Run in the summer of 1780.
