My name is Colleen Eddy and I have tried to do my husbands genealogy, however to no avail. My husband's late Father and the rest of the family was not very close as he joined the Army in the late 40's. Unfortunatly he was not home a lot and did not get to share a lot of family history. His name was Eugene Lee Eddy and was born in Wheeling,Ohio County, WV. His father's name was Hugh Eddy and was born in Barnesville, Belmont, Ohio. My husband, the Eddy, the Ogre from the North, asked his Mother when Granddad was born. She said in about 1910. She said he married a young lady named Helen Woodrow. But Hugh Eddy died sometime in the 70's a widower as Helen had died much earlier.
My husband had joined the Navy in the 70's and and never had the opportunity to find much information out. I do have his brother and sister information but they are deceased as well. I hope someone can help.
My Eddy family is complex. Considering no one knows anyone in the family. What I mean by that is no one knew the Grandma and the Grandfather except maybe my mother-in-law. Everyone has passed away. Grand-kids grew up as Army brats so Grandma didn't get to take them on outings and tell them stories about when she was young and beautiful and living in -----. Ohio? Pennsylvania? What? Was she related to a Woodrow? I don't think so, but I need to find out more information.

  Dave is from Wheeling, West Virginia and he was in the Navy. Unfortunatly too many Dave's are in the Navy so he just got stuck being called Eddy. He reads a lot so being called an Ogre was fitting. (SCI-FI, FANTACY, etc.) Where he was from gave him the "North". He was so big next to me everyone thought he was an Ogre. But really he is a sweetheart.
