The Philip E. Edin Family of Rochester, NY Updated November 9, 2000
About Our Family Research
I have asked my mother (born Myer) and father for their parents and earlier ancestors. My son wrote a report for school at least four years ago, and it included a family tree--maybe four generations. My sister has done some reseach (some census) for which I have copies. She has filled out some family unit forms.
My father said five Dickerson brothers, his ancestors, came over on the Mayflower--I guess you might call that a family legend. I saw one passenger list on the Internet, but saw no names I recognized.
My husband has asked his parents for information for his family. His father's ancestor(s) came from Europe at some unknown time. Upon arrival their last name was probably shortened to Edin. His mother, born a Groves, was born in Kentucky.
Little is verified, and, apart from what my sister and son have done, little is organized.
