My father was Alvin E.Layfield B.March 6,1916 D.Feb 20,1975.His father was Thomas J.Layfield B.Oct.17,1860D.Sep.30,1928 Both born and died in Alabama.His father James Layfield B.1835 in Ga.or Sc. Married Molly Welch 1855 in Ga.I don't have date's of death for either one. They were last known living in Alabama. His father was William layfield B.1790 in NC.D.Jun.1880.in Harris Ga. He was married to Mahalia B.1812 SC. I don't know her maiden name or date of death.William Layfields father was Smullen Layfield B.1755 in MD.-D.1818 Hancock Ga.Wife Priscilla B.1770 Maryland D.1820 Hancock GA. I have read that some believe Smullen Layfields father was George Layfield B.1724 D.1760 in Somerset Maryland. Any information that could help me put my Layfield family's puzzle together would be most appreciated. Thanks Amanda.
