When you are young you don't think about family history or how and when your gggrandparents lived. It just doesn't seem important when you have your whole life ahead of you. Now that both my parents are gone, the need to connect with lost family has become my main goal in life.
My dad died when I was about 11yrs old, he and mom divorced when I was very young. So I really didn't get to know him until right before he died. Then a few years ago my mom died in a car accident.
During my search I have connected with cousins as well as a half brother that I have not seen in almost 40yrs. I have learned about the family and some of the past but have a long way to go. Every day leads me down a new path with new information. I am not claiming everything I have learned is correct but to the best of my knowelge this is pretty close.
