Welcome!! This page is being researched by a mother-daughter team. We are having great fun using the internet and have just recently begun to scan photos of as many people as we can find. We go for months without adding anything new and then find several resources or contacts all at once. We will respond to all who contact us.
The Snyder tree is quite extensive and the most common names you will find are: SNYDER, MATTERN, DOMER, REIGH, GRAY, LIGGETT, SHIMER, NELSON, McCUNE, STINE, COLEMAN, CHERRY, KELLER, HYSKELL, HARTSOCK, GEARHART, ROOT, ALE. Much of this family history is located in Pennsylvania with newer generations located in Ohio.
SNYDER-folk have been harder to find even though we know that they were in New York and Pennsylvania and New Jersey. We have recently added to NELSON and MC CUNE thanks to two (some sort of cousins) who contacted us recently by email.
The Egan tree is much sparser. The names you will see most frequently are: EGAN, CANTILLON, SWANSON, HAZARD, YATES, SIDES, LAFFNER. The Swanson (Swedish) line is relatively complete but all the other lines need lots of work. Great great grandfather Thomas Egan moved with his mother (Martha Yates Egan) and his sibling from Nenagh, Ireland to the Hamilton, Ontario area in 1849-50. While he died in Los Angeles, he is buried in Hamilton with the other members of his family. Tracing back on Thomas (not much known about his father) and finding information about his siblings is another major part of our effort currently.
