the name orignated in Norway, taken I'm told from the village. I'm not sure how it is spelled but it sounds like eikamo. The family settled in Iowa around 1900 in the Story City area. My Father William Roger Egemo was born in Belmond, IA. and later moved to Eagle Grove. We have 2 reunions a year 1 in june (last half) and 1 in november just before Thanksgiving.
