The Frederick Karbachs of New Braunfels, TX Updated April 7, 2001
About Our Family Research
The Karbach family was one of the first families to settle in New Braunfels, TX and has a very rich heritage there. Many articles have been published in both the New Braunfels papers as well as periodicals in nearby areas. Their German heritage is abundant in all aspects of their early lives, and many traditions continue today within the remaining families. Because the original homestead is still in existence, and the cemetary is full of members of the Karbach family, there is much history to discover. Carolyn Karbach, still living in New Braunfels has in her possession many of the old family photos and documents. In the 1980's she and her family hosted a family reunion welcoming over 200 Karbachs and their extended families. The Karbach name is in jeopardy of becoming extinct as there are few Karbach males to pass on the family name. We are always looking for more information about the original Karbach family as well as extended families still in existence.
