Jacob served in the Confederate army as a 3rd Lieutnenant in Company F, 3rd Arkansas Cavalry, from the year 1861 until 1862. Resigned 01/21/1862.
He enlisted on 06/15/1846 in I Company of 1 Arkansas Cavalry and was discharged 06/20/1847.
He was wounded at Buena Vista on 02/23/1847 from being stabed in his left side by a lance.
