I am searching ancestors of the Hoppe family of Tennessee. I know that my gg grandfather's name was August Hoppe. His wife's name was Henrietta Hoppe. They were both from Dormund, Germany. Their eldest son Henry was born in Germany. They all came to America in 1889. The port of departure is unknown. August Hoppe was a shoe cobbler by trade. August and Henrietta eventually had four more children:Rudolph, Robert, Martha and Louis. August was born December 26, 1858 and died January 01, 1908. Henrietta was born on July 19, 1866. This is the first attempt at research into my family. There has never been a reunion for this family.
