A Burns in California from Eastern U.S. Origin

Updated November 9, 2000

About Our Family Research

I was aware of my Scottish heritage most of my life. My maiden name is Burns which is part of the Campbell Clan. My father has researched our family history and revealed that our family traveled from Scotland to Ireland and then to the United States in the late 19th Century. At the moment, I only know as far back as my great-grandparents on my father's side, Fredrick Elmer and Sylvia Cooper Burns.
Only a few years ago did I learn that I also have Scottish heritage on my mother's side of the family. Research in family history revealed that my great-grandfather(surname Schreiber)is a decendent of the MacBean Clan. Much to my surprise, my great-grandmother was also of Scottish heritage as her maiden name was Sutherland!
I would love to have the information to create a complete family history and perhaps find actual family records or pictures.
