Welcome, this web site is to publish my family tree and hopefully find out more about my ancstors and their descendants, they certainly seemed a mixed bunch. I have James from Hertford? Sherinton from Yorkshire and John Ernest from Suffolk.

  This picture was the starting point of my interest on Genealogy. I had heard stories about how my GGgrandmother Ellen Short had adjusted her age by a few years to allow her to marry Thomas without her parents permission as she was underage. The elderly couple in the picture are Thomas Emery born in Tewin Hertford in the year of 1850 and his wife Ellen Short daughter of a copper miner Willaim Short. Ellen was born in Tavistock. Thomas and Ellen had a large family, (names to be added later) and some of them are in this picture.
