I'm researching the following surnames: Smithson, Thompson, Secrest, Hatcher and Rucker, all of whom arrived in Virginia in the 1600's. The emigrant's names which I have so far are; John Smithson, William Hatcher, Peter Rucker. I'm not sure of Secrest and Thompson, although research has disclosed that Catherine Thompson, one of my ancestors, was the daughter of Francis McNairy, 1796 Constitutional Conventional Delegate and U.S. District Judge for Tennessee. Also searching for Lackey, Woolsey, Jackson, Howell -- I'm uncertain of port of entry into the USA, time of entry sometime around the 1700's. The first location I have for the Lackey family is in the Shanandoah Valley of Virginia. My Jackson ancestor who married a Lackey came from Georgia. The Howells and Woolseys are a mystery, other than the knowledge that they were in Texas in the 1880's. Also, Julius Samuel Morel who came from Paris, France according to his daughter, my grandmother Rosa Emma Morel Smithson. If any of these names are known to you, please email me at:
