TO THE FAMILY OF XAVIER & CECILE ENCALADE
I thank God for giving us the srength, love, and health needed to make this day possible; and for making it possible for us to come together on such a joyous occasion. Our theme, "A family that prays together, stays together", pulls alot of weight. For without prayers and our love for God, nothing is possible. This day is a celebration and a tribute to our wonderful foregone grandparents, parents, uncles, and aunts; and to our two surviving aunts, Ellen Narcisse and Hilda Harvey. I've written a short account of each of their lives, just to give an example of what can be accomplished through love and prayers. Neither of them had an abundance of money, nor the finest material things. But, they had what it took to make it in life. They had God on their side. Even though their struggle was long and hard, they left behind a wonderful family. Let us follow their examples and keep Christ in our lives and strive for the best. If we do this, then we will make it just as they did. I hope and pray that our family reunion is most pleasureable and fulfilling to all who attend. i would also like to thank everyone who helped to make this day possible. first, to Andrew Smith for the idea to have a Xavier and Cecile Encalade reunion; Second, to Violet Turner for hosting the many meetings in her home; And last, to those of you who have given input on background information, setting up the menu, and obtaining the runion T-shirts: Sheila Bailey, Sybil Riley, Lavern Terrance, Bernice Barthelemy, Mary Lee Smith, Ivy Encalade, Yvonne Harvey, Merlene Cornin, and Eltonia Smith. Eat, drink, and be merry, but let's remember to keep love in our hearts and pray one for the other. LOVE YOU ALL, CYNTHIA TURNER
