Our father was Venton BARNES who was one of three children from Carrie and Fred Barnes, Fred Barnes's father was John William Barnes Jr. and his father was John William Barnes Sr. and that's all we know. There the information stops. Evidently John William Barnes Jr. was orphaned at 10 and went to live in Appleton City, Missouri either with friends or relatives...of which we do not know...he married Emma HOUSE (her father was a WILHOIT)and had two children...Fred and Nettie Opal. Fred had three children, Dale, Venton and Nadene. We have looked for years for John William Barnes Sr. but to no avail...my father said that his great grandmother's name was Caroline Young. But no records have turned up with those names. My father and I searched for years for them in records but so far haven't found them...he said that he was told that they were from Bowling Green.
