Ancestry/descendants of Karl Eld-Andersson, Bolstad, Sweden

Updated January 23, 2004

About Our Family Research

This is truly a "work in progress"!

I am researching the ancestors of my great-grandfather, Karl Eld-Andersson, who was born in Bolstad, Sweden and his wife, Maja Lisa Karlsdotter Till-Olsson, also of Bolstad, Sweden. They immigrated to America in the early 1880's and settled, as a family, initially in Mcyntire, PA (in Lycoming County) and then moved to Peale, PA, finally building a home in Grassflat, PA where they both died.

The oldest ancestor I have tracked thus far (through church records from Sweden) dates this tree back to about 1640. Coming forward in time, I think I have all the great-grandchildren of Karl and Maja listed now with the exception of one cousin. As to recent additions, children/marriages after 1985 may or may not be listed, depending on how well my cousins have provided me with data and my own speed and computer functionality over the past couple of years. But I am working on getting these records as up-to-date as possible.

If you have any information about descendants of my Great-grandparents, please feel free to contact me. The same goes for information on the ancestors listed as well.

Of particular interest to me at this point in time is my search for data on my great-grandmother's three sister who also immigrated to the U.S. in the middle to late 1880's. Two of these sisters --Anna and Kristina (Stina) lived in Olean, NY. The third sister, Sara (Selma) lived in Grassflat, PA and was married to a Josef Peterson (Petersson?) but beyond that I have very little information. I do not have Anna's married name. Stina was married to either Carl or Charles Schileen. Anyone having any information on these women, I would really appreciate any help! The maiden name there for them was Karlsdotter Till-Olsson. Family word-of-mouth information about this family indicated they went by the surname of Till.

Thanks for reading this and hope someone can help me in my quest for more information on my family tree!
