Hi there! Let me say that I married into the Erwin family and in doing research into my family's history, I became interested in the Erwin history as well. I know that this branch of the family is descended from one Henry Patrick Erwin. He was born in Cairo, Il. in the mid 1800's, left there and made his way down the Mississippi and eventually settled in Ladonia, Texas. He was married to Henrietta and she died after having 2 sons. He then married a widow, Emily Ellard Moses, she brought 3 children to the marriage. The two of them had 5 children of their own. One of these children was Henry Monroe Erwin, my husband's grandfather. Not much is known about Henry Patrick's parents, this is what I am most interested in finding information about.
