My husband and I started doing research on the Estes family line in February 1999 only knowing the name of his Grandfather Daniel Kendrick Estes. We had no idea how many Estes' there were in this world. The most interesting part of genealogy has been the one-on-one interviews we have had with people who knew our Ancestors. It is said that genealogy is one part luck and one part research. We certainly had had our share of luck along the way and have met some wonderful people who lived, worked with, or knew our family members that we did not know. We happened to be at the right place at the right time and found some old letters and photographs that had been missing for 43 years. These lead us to find other family members. Just when we think we have figured it all out, we find another clue that takes us another direction and another journey to our missing links. Genealogy is certainly challenging and fun.
