I have several documents that are sources for this family research. The principle key person I had to work from was my great grandfather, Edmund A. Etheridge. One of my resources names Harrison F. Etheridge as his father. Edmund had two sons that I have met personally. They were my grandfather, Wheeler A. Etheridge and my great uncle, Cecil M. Etherredge, for whom I was named. When I was 14 years of age I moved to Aiken, SC to live with Cecil M. and Virginia Etherredge. Later when I turned 21 I adopted their spelling. I understood from Uncle Cecil that he changed the spelling to match a gravestone in a Milford, Ga cemetery when he was a young man. I have never seen that stone. My grandmother Willie Griffin is from the Baker County, Georgia Griffins and I know they have kept good track of their entire family. I get invitations to go to their family reunion every June which is held in Patmos, Georgia.
