The 55th annual Phillip Etzel Family Reunion was held at Rifle Asso. Hall in Round,TX on Aug. 14th,2005.Family checkin, and the sale of meal and raffle tickets started at 10:30am.Meeting and visitng followed. At noon a catered bar-b-quemeal was served, and desserts brought by family member were enjoyed by all.Next came a memorial service in honor of those relatives who had past away the previous year, and those relatives serving in the military past and present.The service was conducted by Rev. Russell (Red) Etzel (my brother). The buisiness meeting followed. Deloise Etzel-McGill read the tresures's report, and Dottie Etzel gave the secratary's report. Nominations were taken and voted on. Douglas Etzel (me) was elected president, and Burgess Etzel II (my other brother) was elected vice-pres. Other points of buisines were, the same caterers were chosen to do next years reunion,the Rifle Asso. Hall was chosen as next years venue,and the 2nd Sunday in August was setfor next years date. After the meeting the door prizes for youngest relative,oldest male and female relatives,longest and newest married couples,followed by raffle drawings. After that the kids enjoyed a Pinata outside, Bingo was played inside for anyone who wanted to play.
