I was born 1943 in Wilkes-Barre Pa. My father and mother were Reamer Israel Evans and Alice Marie Pennypacker. I only knew my Fathers mother Grammy Mae, although I found out that my mothers father died in the 50s I was shocked to find out I had never met him. I started my search in 1998 and found out that my fathers father was also alive while I was growing up. He was in Danville State Hospital and I had never met him either. I did get my fathers side the Evans name back to early 1600 and his mothers side Hildebrandt also early 1600 they are in the Columbia and Montour County History Books. I found my mothers mothers side Zora Gearheart was her mother back to early 1600 and they are also in the history books of Berks County. My mothers father Charles A Pennypacker I have not had too much luck with. I only have my great grandfather Charles A. and Lydia Ann Hons I think her father was George, although I am not sure. My mother was married before to Freas DeFrain and had 5 children she had lost 2 of the 5 and when she lost her first one he was 5yrs. old and her husband commited suicide 2 days later. My mother was always tight lipped about her past. I guess it was too painful but all this information I found out through my research . Birth certificates Death certificates and the family history library I received photos of my great grand fater an great grandmother from some relatives I met doing my search . It has been great doing this search finding new relatives who you didn"t even know you had. It is amazing when you start looking how you connect with people from all over the world. I hope to find more relatives with family pictures so I can pass it on. After all I believe family is the only worth while thing we have on this earth. Our family includes Evans, Pennypacker,Hildebrandt, Gearheart, Smethers, Knorr, Martz, Fisher, Myers,Hons, Heller, Corson, Butz, and many many more.
