We are currently researching info on John Evans who came over from England. He married Eliza both of who are buried in Elizabeth Cem. They had a son William who married Minerva Evans (yes,was also maiden name)in 1866. John died Oct.17,1860 or 1880. John also had at least, a son named Samuel and a daughter. Minervas' father was Nelson Evans. Wiliam Evans was born Sept. 23,1844(about) in Elizabeth, Pa. He died on Sept.29, 1909. Minerva and William had 12 children, 2died very young. One, Samuel died when 28 yrs. old. Surviving children were: William N., John U., Clarence L., Charles W., Harry F., Howard S., Foster F., George G., and one daughter. William Evans served in the Civil War; Company E. 155th Pennsylvania,mustered in Aug.22, 1862; he was shot in the arm and face at Cold Harbor, Virginia on June 2, 1864. He was then transferred to Company K.,6th Regiment Veteran Reserve Corps, discharged by general order, July 5, 1865.
