The Evanses of Arkansas go back to Joel J. Evans, Sr., civil war veteran. He was born in Georgia. Married Rebecca Jones, daughter of Joel J. Jones and they moved through Tennessee and settled in Cabot area of Arkansas. There is an Evans cemetery just outside of Cabot, Lonoke, Arkansas. The Walpole/Chism Jones line, which married into the Evanses, settled around the Cabot area. Chism Jones also came from Georgia but I have been unable to identify his parents who may have been born in North/South Carolina.
The Postons of Canada come from 4 brothers. The first one was Charles Poston, Sr, son of Charles (1) and Ann Green of Whitchurch, Shropshire, England. He arrived in Quebec around 1820. His three 1/2 brothers Thomas, Edward and William (20+ years Charles' junior) arrived possibly around 1840. They were all merchants and lived in and around the city of Quebec. Charles' decendents eventually moved west and settled in the Pacific Northwest areas of Canada and the USA. Combined they had many children.
