My mother Felicia Louise Keziah House, born on August 6, 1899 and died May 11, 1971, born in Asheville, N.C. was one of six children born to that of John House and Martha Crowell. This is my reason for research. On or about November 24, 1886, John House of Providence Township in Rowan county, married Martha Crowell of Gold Hill township in RowanCounty, N.C. He was the youngest of four sons born to that of Joel and Keziah House on 1860 & he died in 1910. Martha was born on 1866 to Andrew Crowell and a Cherokee woman named Rachel; Martha was second of five children born to the union. She died in 1942. John House's father Joel is listed in the 1860 census of Cabarrus county, n.c. as a mulatto. This research goes even further into that of a white landowner named Jacob House born 1793 and died in 1889. Jacob was married to Sally Barringer. Every summer about July the HOuse family holds reunion in Granite Quarry, N.C. a part of Rowan County, N.C.
