I have been researching the surnames:
Isham, Diffee, Davis, Gregory, Harrell, Beasley, Hare,and Norfleet on my father's side of the family. My mother's side surnames are Root, Ryon, Kocher and Gruber.
So far I have traced the Isham family back to William Isom (Isham), Grayson County, Virginia, b.abt. 1739.
I am at a dead end on researching the Gregory, Davis,Hare, and Harrells on my fathers side.
I am at a dead end on the Ryon family on my mother's side. Richard Henry Lee Ryon who lived around Antietum, Maryland in the 1860 is as far back as I can find on that family.
I am willing to share information on any of these families.
It has really been exciting to find new relatives through my research.
In the Isham Book by Paul Isham, the connection of Charles Newton Isham to the Isham family in Ohio is incorrect. Charles Newton Isham was born 1860 in Floyd County Georgia to John A. and Nancy Isham. I have proof of this.
In an early posting I listed my ancestors as being from the line of John Isham of Barnstable Mass. The line of the above listed William Isom/Isham has not been connected to the Barnstable line.
