Names include Evans, Backus, Steube, Goodwin, Erb, Jones, Wiley, Everett, Henderson, Drake, Jenkins, Smith. All eventually moved to Ohio. The four grandparent names are Evans, Backus, Goodwin, and Steube. Some of the Evans' came from the District of Abergavenny and Trodigga in Wales in the middle of the 1800s to New York and Cincinnati. The Backus' are believed to have come from Germany to Ohio through Canada in the 1840s. The Goodwins came from England in the 1600s to Massachutes. The Steubes came from Heldra, Hesse Kastle, Germany to New York in 1854. Erb is from Bavaria, Germany. Everett, Drake, and Smith are also from England. Henderson is from County Down, Ireland. Jones and Jenkins are also from Wales. The Wiley's are first found in Maryland in the middle of the 1700s.
