I have heard from senior members of our branch of the
"Ewart Family Tree" That going back to Mary Queen of Scott. The family story is that when Mary, being a Stewart, was put to death that the Stewart's drop the "St" from our name. It is a great story, but Mary Queen Of Scott spelled "Sturat." We had a
family reunion 20 July 08 and again the story was told. There is a connection to Ensign Ewart. John Barr Ewart is my great, great, great grandfather. Would enjoy hearing any info.
In family pictures we have 2 pictures of Ensign Ewart monument and we do not know who took the pictures for no member has traveled Scotland.
