My mum and dad are Jim (known in the family as either Sid or Jim born on 14 November 1930) and Rita Phillips (nee Hinton). Dad served in the British navy as a radio signalman (sparkie)after the end of the second World War. He later went on to work on the railroads. My parents, brother David (born 4 August 1953), sister Anne(born 7 January 1957) and I(born 22 April 1963 in Rochester Kent) emigrated from England in 1967. Dad is from Portsmouth and mum from London. Dad is one of seven children (Frank,John,Tom,Bob,Iris and Patricia)all but one of the boys being in the navy. Mum is one of four (Ron,Derek and older sister(dec)). Tom and Iris live in Australia and the rest are still in England so we very rarely get to have a reunion but I would love to trace my Phillips family tree. My only point of contact was my grandmother Ivy Violet who passed away in 1990 approx. in Portsmouth and not much has been recorded.
