Mr. William Eugene Ezell, nickname Bill, or Cooter-Boy, was a native of Pensacole Florida, born on Desota and a resident of Mobile County Alabama, for the past 70 years.
Mr. Ezell was a veteran of the US Army, serving in WWII. and Korea. He was a member of VFW post 250. He was employed in the past as a Engineer for Crescent Towing. Cause of death was Hypertension and Coronary Atherosclerosis. Place of death at his house at 3240 Clearview Drive, Theodore, Alabama 36582, found in front room laying on floor.
On Certificate of death state file number 101.
The coffin he was buried in was gray, the America flag layed on the coffin and lots of flowers standing on each side.of his coffin.
It was nice to see his brother Preston their and also Mary, Mary was the daughter of Doris and Horald Lawrence.
The flag was handed to Donna, she later handed to Robert Ezell, and all of his war metals are in the hand of Jimmy Ezell.
William Ezell's first wife was Betty Jean Lawrence born Oct 26, 1930, Mobile, Alabama.
Betty Lawrence is the daughter of John William Stewart Lawrence of Fairhope, Alabama and her mother was Jessie M. Dickens of Mosspoint, Mississippi.

David Ransom and his wife Martha E. and small daughter Florence along with his brother James Lusk and wife Martha settled in Brazoria County, Texas upon leaving Carroll County, MS. Family sayings held that David and James left McMinnville, TN when their mother remarried. They did not get along with their step-father. Shortly after arriving he left his family for the California gold rush. James and his wife may have watched out about Martha Evelyn in the 7-8 yr interval. From what stories we've heard she was quite a woman and fended for herself quite well. When indians attempted to come down her chimney, she put her feather mattress in the fireplace and smoked them out.

Col. Jno. R. Dickins, of Dickens' Ferry, has passed away to the
blissful hunting grounds.
The old man paid his last debt of mortal infirmities last Monday, at
the age of sixty-seven.
He had many friends to whom his suit of buck-skins was familiar, who
will be sorry to hear that the old Cherokee chief is no more.

Esther was married to Curtis Tanger Ezell, later married a Leo Green and she was the Daughter of Isaac ( IKE ) Shoven Steele and Mary Ann "Polly" Browder of Robertsdale, Alabama
- Silas V. Lawrence 16 May 1822, Bucksport, Maine (34 KB)
Lived in Fairhope, Alabama, Silas Lawrence was married about a mile from the spot where he died,
in the year of 1846. Building and sailing vessels was his chief
occupation. He was a deeply religious man and united first with
the Baptist Church, and later with the Larger Hope Association
having the headquarters in Michigan. Silas, died Feb.16,1908,
his children was Silas Lawrence Jr. who died July 27,1862, and
George A. R. Lawrence who died July 1907, also Joseph W. Lawrence
died Jan. 22,1922, Lovie Lawrence died Sept.10,1877, Almira Abigail
Lawrence born Aug. 25,1861, Elzadah Lawrence born April 27,1847,
Eugenie Lawrence born 1849, married March 23, 1866 to John W. Kohler.

WILLIAM HENRY EZELL, died from a Blood Vessell in his neck bursting.
William Henry Ezell was a very tall man,and thin in size with
very large hands and a mustache on his upper lip looking lighter
in color than his hair which looked black by a picture taken of
him with his son Curtis Tanger Ezell and Daughter Minnie Ezell
who later married a Brewton,and also his wife Roxanna Cobb, all
setting on a log dressed up.
William Henry Ezell was born March 1855, Florida and died
May 6, 1915 Pensacola, Florida. His father was Jesse Ezell and
his mother Anna Eliza. Wells, it was said by William Eugene Ezell
the son of Curtis Tanger Ezell, that his grandpa was a logger
and what was told to him William Henry came home after a hard
days work and feeling exhausted went to lay down where he later
died.

Son of John R. Dickens, 25 Jan 1815.
John Dickens had a horse which he used to pull a wagon of potatos, vegetables, and green beans, not to- mention charcoal. Sometimes the horse became stubborn and a pull
or two was necessary, Irvin said it must have been around the 1930's.
He also recall his Grandpa Dickens, with a moustache,that looked to
be gray in color.

Curtis Tanger Ezell was very tall man with large hands and black hair
and his hair he had all his life, he also had dark skin and as
told by my mother Betty Jean maiden name Lawrence now Campbell said
his eyes was blue looking and had a wide nose.
His first wife was name Esther Blanche Steel, his second wife was
name Roxy Cobb, my mom said don't get it confused with his mothers
name who was also Roxy Cobb, later I found it spelled Roxanna, but
on the early 1900 Census his mothers name was Roxy, Curtis Tanger was
also one of the builders of the old Pensacola Bay Bridge not the new
one. Preston Lee Ezell his son said he worked in a Saw Mall too,
but most of the time he was a Bootlegger.
