The Fabers' of Trenton, N.J.

Updated February 18, 2001

About Our Family Research

William Faber arrived in Trenton, N.J. from Germany in the late
1800s' and was a barber. He had a son (William E.) and a daughter
(Dorothy. William E. Faber married Mae Chamney and they had a son
(Robert Wilburton Faber, born 1909 in Trenton) William E. Faber
operated a sign business "Faber Signs" in Trenton up until 1939.
William E. Faber had a permanent injury to his one arm from a
work related fall. Robert W. Faber married Helen Roberts in 1935
and in 1937 they had a son,(Alan Robert Ely Faber, now living in
Punta Gorda, Fla.) In 1939 the Fabers' (Wm E. & Robert W.) moved
to Santa Barbara, CA and operated for a brief time a motel/gas
station. In 1941 the Fabers' left Santa Barbara with William E.
moving to Miami, Fla for the winters and Trenton for the summer
and Robert W. enlisted into the Army. Helen Faber & son Alan
moved to Morrisville, Pa to live with her parents during the war.
After the war Robert & Helen divorced and Robert was last known
to be in northern CA. In 1962 when Dorothy Faber Doros died in
Trenton, N.J. indications were that William E. and Mae Faber
were still alive and living in/around the San Bernadino area in CA. Also learned in later years, it's possible/probable that
Robert W. Faber may have legally changed his name to James Parker
in order to avoid responsibility in divorce proceedings.
