Skerbetz-Malich-Manning-Walsh Family Research

Updated December 10, 2006

About Our Family Research

I have been researching both sides of my family for several years. I am interested in any information on the following ancestors.

SKERBETZ FAMILY
Anton Skrbec born 1877,son of Katherina Skrbec,Drago Slovenija

Simon and Maria (Huodlin)Skerbez (Skrbec) of Propreska Draga Slovenija are Katherina's parents.

Johann and Marija (Ozbolt) Skrbec of Propreska, Draga, Slovenija. Johann was Katerina'a brother.

Simon and Elisabeth (Lekan) Skerbez (Skrbec)of Stari, Lozu, Slovenija were Simon Skrbec's parents

MANNING FAMILY

Morris Maning born April 24, 1845 in Ireland was my grandfather. He entered into the United States through New York City on May 7 1866 as a passenger on the U.S. William Stover. At one time I was told that he might have been the son of John and Catherine (Fitzgerald) Manning married Feb 19, 1833; however, recently that may not be the case. I am still attempting to locate his family and him Ireland during the 1800s.

I found him in Pittsbugh for the 1880 Census with his family. These a a few of his children.
John Manning from Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania born 1871 died 1940.

Maggie Manning from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania born 1873 Married John Kumer.

Edward Manning from Pittsburgh,PA born 1887 died June 22 1940.

WALSH FAMILY

John and Elizabeth (Kevane of Boherbue) Walsh married in Dingle, Ireland in 1833. Their children were Ellen, Betty, Margaret, Ann, Thomas John and twins Bridget and Honora(born March 3, 1850). The twin girls and possibly Margarett imigrated to America and lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The spelling of the names of the families in Slovenija and Ireland were changed when my ancestors immigrated to the United States; however, their relatives may not have had to change their spelling.
