The Fairhurst family have so far been traced back to Ashton in Lancashire with a branch in Tarporley in Cheshire and one near Sandbach in Cheshire. My father's maternal line is called Jones and originate from Carnarvonshire, North Wales.
My mother's maiden name is Hall, which we think is a Crewe family, and her mother's family name is Butterworth; they originate from Rochdale in Lancashire.
