My family spent years not knowing our roots, and due to the internet we are discovering more and more about our past. This is a family project that has led us to discover family we never even knew we had, and has helped us to know more of who we are and from where we come from.
I have moved from my home state of Nebraska, to Kansas where I was lucky enough to meet a distant relative of mine who helped us in our quest. I am hoping to continue to have similar successes in the future.
For years the word of mouth family history has suggested we are remotely related to General Robert. E. Lee. This is something we are hoping to either verify or disprove in our searches.
We are currently researching the following surnames: Lathen, Becker, Snow, Huff, Dodds, Hughes, Falk, Anderson, Mullins, Kirwin and many others.
