I have only just started my family research. All I know so far is that my father was born in Rugeley, Staffordshire to William Fanshawe,(a soldier who enlisted in the Royal Irish Regiment and was stationed at Cannock Chase, near Rugeley: originally he was from the south of |England), and Annie Higgott, a girl from Rugeley, Staffordshire. My mother, Wendy Fanshawe, nee Bull, is the daughter of Mary Elizabeth Farquharson from Stevenston, Ayrshire and Alexander Augustus Bull of Orgreave, Lichfield, Staffs., England. I am looking forward to hearing from anyone with the names Fanshawe, Higgott, Bull or Farquharson as I would dearly like to trace my family history. I am an English and Drama teacher at Joseph Leckie School in Walsall, West Midlands. Even though I have now moved from King's Bromley I feel a close attachment with the village itself. My mother and father still live there. Wendy, my mum, has lived there all her life, and is now the manager of Medical Records at the Victoria Hospital, Lichfield, where herself, and my brothers, Roger and Kirk, were born. My father, William, works, at present, at the Imperial Bathroom Company in Aldridge, Walsall, West Midlands. My late grandmother, Mary Elizabeth, also known as Maisie, worked as the stewardess of the Midland Country Car Club, King's Bromley, Staffordshire for many years. If anyone has any information that may be of interest please get in touch.
