The Charles J. Fannon's of Coeburn, Va.

This page is an ongoing attempt to discover the original roots of this line of Fannon's that used to be Fannin's. Charles J. Fannon was born in Wayland, Ky. on 27 December 1927. He remained in Kentucky until about seven years of age and then relocated to Coeburn, Va. He served in the Korean War. He married Faye Imogene Adkins, 8 June 1947, at Clintwood, Va. They lived in Coeburn until 1954 at which time they moved to Michigan City, Indiana. In 1972 they moved back to Coeburn, Va. where they remain. Charles' father was Charley Bryant Fannin born at Inez, Ky. 1896, his mother was Gracie O.E. McCoy. Charley's father was William Fannin and mother was Malinda Osborne, both from Eastern Kentucky around Inez,in Martin Co. Charles and Faye had five living children: Lona Gail, b.1948, David Joel, b.1949, Buford Elliot, b.1950, Gregory Allen, b.1965, Dwane J., b.1967, Lora Dale, b.1968.
