My sister-in-law,Kathy Parrish and myself have been working on this part of the family tree. On a recent trip to Louisburg,NC I went to the public library. I came across the last name Gupton in a file in the filing cabinet where there are some family history of others also. Myself and my sister-in-law went back to Louisburg,NC and got the file to match up names that we already had. There was so much information, so between us we made copies. This has been a great help in finding out my family history, which we always came into dead ends on this family. Oh, By the way. My G-grandfather was Wilison{Willie}Gray{Grey} Gupton. He married Carrie Hamlet{t}.I am going to try to get this piece of family history done one day, cause I am working on both sides of my family, which is really a lot. I am planning on giving all 3 of my kids this so they will know everything about their family history to hand down to generations to come. I have also found some information on the message boards, visiting the cemetery in the Epsom Community, where my grandparents and daddy are buried at and also there are some Wilders and Guptons buried also. And also information my sister-in-law has gotten over the past few months which was handed down to me. On Tuesday, June 13th,2005 we are planning a day trip thru Franklin County, NC to Whitakers, NC where my G-Uncle Raymond Gupton,91,son of Willie G. Gupton and Carrie Hamlet{t} Gupton, resides to get some more information on the Gupton family. If weather permits, hopefully, we will pass some cemeteries along the way, and get names, dates, etc.

I went to Nash County, to surrounding communities today. Outside of Nashville, NC, a little community called Castalia, NC, my sister-in-law and I stop by Red Bud Baptist Church Cemetery on my hunches that someone was buried there that we needed dates on. Well, my hunches were right. Thru all the research we found my G-grandmother, Carrie E. Hamlet Gupton's gravesite. With camera in hand, I took a picture of the gravesite, and a few more sites that we are looking into the ones buried there. For those interested, Red Bud Baptist Church is located at 820 Highway 58 East Castalia, NC. Between Nashville, NC and Centerville, NC. As, other things come together, I am going to post them on this.
