DECENDENTS OF JOHN FAWLEY (1720/1723-1803)

Updated May 4, 2004

About Our Family Research

Information for this web page was obtained from official government records such as Federal Census, birth, death and marriage records at county court houses and state archives, social security death index, personal interviews, newspaper articles, life summary written by individuals, research data of Professor Paul Calvin Fawley and Virginia April Fawley Reichelt. The book “The Family of Jacob Fawley (1802-1880) of the Brocks Gap Area, Rockingham County, Virginia” authored by Patricia Turner Ritchie provided the inspiration.
Our father often spoke of Uncle Ed, Uncle Lem and of course Uncle John, a mountain man in Tucker County, West Virginia. Not Understanding the family connection we started our genealogical research in 1991 and the answer to one question lead to several more. As a result we have accumulated in our files a listing dating from 1720 to present that total approximately 8300 names associated with the "FAWLEY" surname.
