Fearon/Sager/Mckenzie of Liverpool, UK Updated June 24, 2002
About Our Family Research
I am trying to find out about my mother's family. She is called Phyllis Mckenzie (married into the Fearon family). Her mother was called Phyllis Sager, who came from a well-off Liverpool family who owned fruit shops and a coal wharf. She inherited 3 fruit shops along Byford St, Liverpool 7: sold one, gave one to her brother Jimmy who gambled it away, and kept one (no 59). The shop was bombed in the war.
My mother's father's family was Glaswegian. Her dad was called James Jones Mckenzie, parents James Mckenzie and Sarah Jones, and he worked for a long time at the Liverpool Corn Exchange. There was some talk of a family feud - although the family was poor his education was paid for by the Masons and he went to the Blue Coat School in Liverpool, but he didn't keep in touch with any of them.
Any news or further information about this gratefully received.
