We are researching the following surnames:
ARTHUR; COCKBURN; DROHMAN; FEESE; GILL; GIST; GRIMM; HACKER; HILL; ROSE; SCHOUMAN; SIMMONS; TOWNSEND and related families.

My maiden name was Marcia Kay WOOD (b. 1940, KC, MO)and my parents were Harold Arthur WOOD and Edna Modene GILL. My parents were married in Oklahoma and my mother was a native of Ok, my father born in Kansas. Oddly, my husband David Feese's parents were also from Oklahoma and Kansas - his mother Alcie Mae GRIMM from Ok and his father, Henry Rephfel FEESE from Kansas.

My mother's father, Edgar Franklin GILL was killed in a coal mining accident in Ok. in 1925, when she was only 9 yrs. old. Her mother, Luiley (?) Etta TOWNSEND had died 5 years earlier, giving birth to a baby who also died, possibly a boy. She is one of my biggest research problems. I can find no death certificate for her. I can find no marriage record. She only appeared in one census record (by name), 1910, in Greer County Ok. She married in 1911 and died before the 1920 census record. Her TOWNSEND & GARRISON family were from Tennesse and are said to have some Cherokee blood.
