My research started a long time ago through an inbuilt nosiness regarding my heritage. My Dad was from Caithness in Scotland and we were used to going there for holidays as a family, from our home in Paisley in Scotland. My fascination led me to roam the local cemeteries and look at the local registry for details or possible details of ancestors. As you can imagine I have a reasonable wealth of information relating to the family on my dads mothers side. I have always had an affinity with the land up there. God knows why, because it can be a really desolate land. It can also be a very beautiful land, and I just love the aura from the Pentland Firth. Especially on the cliff walk between Thurso and Scrabster.

I have not had as much success with my mums side, from Ireland; the north, where her parents came from; the county of Fermanagh. She also has relatives on both sides of the Irish border, although we do not know anything of these.

As the years have gone by and I have more resources available to store my info ( the computer) It seems I have less time to devote to this hobby of mine, and I think back to the nights I used to spend when I lived n my parents house sitting on my bed surrounded by mountains of pieces of paper with details scribbled down from either gravestones or from the local registrars office in Thurso.

I hope to attract people with the same names mentioned in this page to email me and see if we cant establish a family connection somewhere. I certainly know that there must be relatives all over the world, but have no knowledge of where they may have settled other than the particular continents!
