I started my research on my Ancesters in 1982. My Father's Mother's Family came to the United States from Friedenstal, Bessaraba, Russia. What is now the Ukraine. His Father was born in Scottland, SD. His Grandparents also came from Friedenstal.
WE ARE GERMANS FROM RUSSIA.
We my brother's and my Ancester lived in the Black Forest of Germany, Under an invitation from Catherian the Great, The Germany, Polish, and others moved to what was call the step in the Odessa Area of Russia.
