Updated April 9, 2009

About Our Family Research

We are researching the ancestry of the Femia and Vocino families of New Jersey. Any information that you may have would be greatly appreciated and we would also be willing to share details on what we have as well.

The Femia family originates from the town of Cittanova in the region of Calabria in Italy and continues with the immigration of Francesco Femia to America in May of 1905 and settled in Bayonne, New Jersey. He was married to Concetta Zurzolo.

The Vocino family originates from the small town of San Nicandro di Garganico in the region of Puglia in Italy and continues with the immigration of Giuseppe Vocino to America in May of 1907 and settled in Garfield, New Jersey. He married Gandolfa "Mamie" Chappa in 1914. We have detailed information on the Vocino side of the family, dating back to the late 1600s in Italy.
